Insect Pinning Workshop: Five-Horned Rhinoceros Beetle: SESSION 2: APRIL 10

Step into the world of natural history collections.
In this one-hour workshop, students will learn the proper techniques used by entomologists and museum preparators to pin and preserve insects for study and display. We will be working with a Five-Horned Rhinoceros Beetle- a striking and powerful specimen known for its impressive horn structure.
Students will learn:

Basic insect anatomy and handling techniques

Proper pin placement and positioning

How to prepare a specimen for long-term display

Care and storage tips for beginning an insect collection
All materials are included in the class fee, including pins, mounting supplies, and one beetle specimen per student. Each student will leave with a fully pinned beetle ready for their collection.
Because of the delicate tools and techniques involved, this class is limited to 8 students.

If this class fills, we may offer additional insect pinning workshops in the future featuring other species.

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated based on weight and will be displayed at checkout. Orders will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, or UPS Ground.
We do not provide estimated delivery timeframes for Armed Forces addresses. Please plan on at least several weeks for delivery.
