Step into the studios of the world’s most influential artists.
In this weekly art class, students will explore the lives and works of artists throughout history while learning new techniques and experimenting with a variety of mediums. Each week, we’ll study an artist, examine their style and historical context, and then create our own inspired work.
Artists we may explore include Claude Monet, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Georgia O'Keeffe, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, Yayoi Kusama, Michelangelo, Henri Matisse, Mary Cassatt, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and many more.
Students will:
-
Learn about artists within their historical time periods
-
Explore different art movements and styles
-
Experiment with new materials and techniques
-
Create original artwork inspired by what they’ve learned
This class is perfect for curious young artists who want to deepen their skills while discovering the rich stories behind great works of art.
Jump in and explore the world of art with us.
WHAT AGE IS IT FOR?
This class is designed for ages 9 and up. It’s best for kids who can focus on art projects for the class duration and enjoy learning about history and art together.
DO STUDENTS NEED TO HAVE ART EXPERIENCE?
Not at all. The class is structured to work for beginners and more experienced young artists. We’ll demonstrate techniques step by step and encourage each student to explore their own style.
WILL MY CHILD BRING HOME FINISHED ART?
Yes! Each unit ends with a completed art piece (or sometimes multiple smaller projects) inspired by the artist's work.
WHAT MAKES THIS CLASS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ART CLASSES?
We don’t just make art- we travel through time and history to meet incredible artists, learn about their techniques, and see the world through their eyes. It’s part art class, part history lesson, part adventure in observation!
WHAT MATERIALS WILL MY CHILD NEED?
We provide all the materials needed for class. Students just need to bring their curiosity and creativity!
